Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Major (A.A.)
Purpose
The purpose of this Associate of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major is to focus on the intersections of philosophy, politics, and economics. Graduates will be equipped to understand and interact with source material focused on Western tradition and the diverse elements of American cultural history, especially the importance of the individual in maintaining democratic and free market processes.Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Discuss ideas that are foundational for limited constitutional government, free markets, and a political institution best capable of producing a flourishing society.
- Analyze the implications of free religious, cultural, and political institutions for market-based economies, and how a Christian worldview sustains these social freedoms.
