Creative Writing Major (B.S.)
Purpose
This program will equip students to produce written works utilizing the conventions of creative genres while engaging readers through literary beauty, compelling stories, and imagined worlds. Students will learn to analyze information, break down complex concepts, formulate ideas, and produce original pieces. All of this creative engagement will be grounded in a Christian worldview as students learn to engage culture overtly and covertly with transcendent, biblical truths.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Analyze written pieces according to the best practices of a given genre.
- Create professionally written pieces according to the conventions of a particular genre.
- Analyze the nature of an author's worldview within literary pieces.
