Interior Design Major (A.A.)
Purpose
Liberty University’s Associate of Arts in Interior Design provides students with the skills to design beautiful, functional spaces that reflect both creativity and ethical values. Through courses like Interior Design I, Digital Drafting, and History of Décor, students gain practical experience in space planning, color theory, and material selection. Graduates are prepared for careers in home staging, residential décor, and design consulting, with a unique focus on client-centered service rooted in a Christian perspective.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Recognize professional aesthetic requirements in interior design.
- Apply workable solutions to problematic residential interior workspaces.
Graduates of the program are prepared for entry-level positions such as:
- Interior Decorator
- Home Stager
- Design Assistant
- Residential Design Consultant
Note: These roles may require additional experience or certification, depending on state regulations or employer requirements. For some career paths, including higher-level design consulting or project management, further study or a bachelor’s degree in interior design may enhance advancement opportunities.
