Physics Major (B.S.)
Purpose
The Bachelor in Science in Physics major provides an opportunity for students to develop advanced skills in physics that can lead to success in today's technologically oriented society. Physicists are problem solvers, and the analytical skills they learn make them versatile and adaptable. Graduates of this program will gain a foundation of knowledge and practical experience which will prepare them for various career fields.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Understand fundamental physics principles as well as foundational concepts within its branches of mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Use mathematical techniques for problem solving.
- Systematically explore physical phenomena by setting up experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting their results.
- Understand how the cosmos and laws of physics support a creator and biblical worldview.
