Biotechnology Major (B.S.)
Purpose
The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology major is designed to prepare students for professional and graduate programs or employment in the field of biotechnology, through a curriculum taught from the biblical worldview. Elements emphasized in this degree program include the evaluation of ethical issues in biotechnology, the development of analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as participating in and documenting research-based projects
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Apply standards and principles of safe practice in the laboratory or field environment.
- Understand ethical issues in the life sciences in light of a biblical/Christian worldview.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biotechnological concepts.
- Conduct, analyze, and summarize biochemical or molecular research.
