Environmental Health & Safety Major (B.S.)
Purpose
The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and Safety program seeks to equip graduates with a solid understanding of designing and managing safe industrial workplaces in accordance with federal laws. Students are trained in the many types of workplace hazards, how to create safety plans, and how to implement them in emergency situations. The knowledge of environmental health and safety gained through this program is constructed on a Biblical foundation emphasizing Christian ethics and the sanctity of human life.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Explain the science underlying the chemical and environmental issues common in industrial settings.
- Apply a Christian worldview to all facets of environmental health and safety.
- Apply OSHA standards to chemical storage and usage, environmental management, and workplace safety management.
- Apply safety professional skills related to effective risk and injury management practices.
