Purpose

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major equips students with the necessary skills to excel in medical and related professional schools, graduate school, and employment in the field of biochemistry. It is taught from a distinctly biblical worldview. Upon completion of the degree program, students are prepared for biochemical/molecular research that will benefit and improve the quality of life in the community.

Program Learning Outcomes

The student will be able to:

  • Apply standards and principles of safe practice in the laboratory or field environment.
  • Understand ethical issues in the life sciences in light of a biblical/Christian worldview.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biochemical and cellular concepts.
  • Conduct, analyze, and summarize biochemical or molecular research.
