Bible Major (B.S.)
Purpose
The B.S. in Bible major provides students foundational training in the field of the Bible. The BS in Bible allows students to gain a thorough knowledge of the Bible. Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to interpret each major genre of the Old and New Testaments, as well as those skills needed for teaching in vocational and pastoral ministry. Students will take courses such as the Old Testament Historical Books, Major and Minor Prophets, Gospels, Acts, Pauline Epistles, and Daniel-Revelation.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to:
- Explain key features of the historical and cultural context of the Bible.
- Apply knowledge of the structure and content of the Bible.
- Apply the principles of biblical interpretation.
