Students with RN license and bachelors degree in a discipline other than Nursing must take NURS 226, NURS 440, NURS 446, NURS 489, and NURS 491 within the first year of the program.

Introductory statistics course (math preferred) and an undergraduate course in health assessment are required. For those who did not complete these courses in their undergraduate programs, they may fulfill these requirements during the first two semesters of the M.S.N. program. Students must complete the statistics course prior to enrollment in NURS 500

NURS 635 and NURS 636 involve practice experience hours (Nursing Informatics – 200 hours). Students must obtain a practice experience site contract along with an approved experienced informatics clinician. Students must also complete all  pre-practice experience requirements prior to enrollment in any practice experience course

Students must complete a background check prior to enrollment in NURS 630 for completion of practice experience

Graduation Requirements

  • Complete 36 hours
  • A maximum of 50% of the program hours may be transferred if approved and allowable, including credit from an earned degree from Liberty University on the same academic level
  • 3.0 GPA
  • No grades lower than a B- may be applied to the degree
  • Liberty University course work that is more than 5 years old may not be applied towards this degree. Students are required to repeat the course if it has exceeded the age limit
  • Degree must be completed within 5 years
  • Submission of Degree Completion Application must be completed within the last semester of a student’s anticipated graduation date
