Students with RN license and bachelors degree in a discipline other than Nursing must take NURS 226, NURS 440, NURS 446, NURS 489, and NURS 491 within the first year of the program.

Introductory statistics course (math preferred) and an undergraduate course in health assessment (e.g. NURS 210) are required. For those who did not complete these courses in their undergraduate programs, they may fulfill these requirements during the first two semesters of the M.S.N. program. Students must complete the statistics course prior to enrollment in NURS 500

NURS 623, NURS 625, and NURS 626 involve practicum hours [Nurse Administrator - 200 hours]. Students must obtain a preceptor site contract along with an approved MSN or doctorally prepared nurse leader preceptor. Students must also complete all pre-practicum requirements prior to enrollment in any practicum course

Graduation Requirements

  • Complete 36 hours
  • A maximum of 50% of the program hours may be transferred if approved and allowable, including credit from an earned degree from Liberty University on the same academic level
  • 3.0 GPA
  • No grades lower than a B- may be applied to the degree
  • Liberty University coursework that is more than 5 years old may not be applied towards this degree. Students are required to repeat the course if it has exceeded the age limit
  • Degree must be completed within 5 years
  • Submission of Degree Completion Application must be completed within the last semester of a student’s anticipated graduation date
