For students who completed a Master's degree through Liberty prior to pursuing the DBA, and who are using credits from their Master's degree for their DBA cognates, the courses must be no older than seven years at the time of the student's admission to the DBA.

As an exception to the multiple-degree policy listed elsewhere in this section, students who are pursuing a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree and who have previously earned a Master of Arts in Religion (MAR), Master of Religious Education (MRE), or Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS) will be permitted to use applicable credits completed for the MAR, MRE (including the MRE-Chaplaincy), or MABS toward the MDiv as allowed by the student’s specific MDiv Degree Completion Plan (DCP) provided the total hours transferred do not exceed two-thirds of the MDiv program..

For the Chaplaincy programs, only graded course work from accredited institutions will be eligible for transfer.

Transfer credit for CHPL courses must be reviewed and approved by the School of Divinity.

The EdD allows the transfer of up to 24 hours from a EdS degree earned through another institution, and up to 27 hours (as applicable) from a EdS degree earned through Liberty.

The PhD in Education allows the transfer of up to 27 hours (as applicable) from a EdS earned through Liberty.

The maximum of 42 hours of transfer credit is consistent with policy published in the Graduate Catalog ["At least one-third of the course work for any program of study must be earned through Liberty University."]

A maximum of 30 hours of 500/600-level coursework may be applied to the degree, whether credit taken for the PhD through Liberty, credit from a Master's degree completed through Liberty, or credit transferred from another institution. This exception to the maximum 15 hours (as stated in GAC 11-1617) has been approved by the Graduate School.
